Spider veins, a variant of varicose veins, are smaller, red or blue in color, and are closer to the surface of the skin than varicose veins. Also known as telangectasias, they can look like a tree branch or spider web with their short, jagged branches. Spider veins are most commonly found on the legs and the face and come in a variety of sizes.
Our practice is dedicated entirely to the diagnosis and treatment of vein disease, and our surgeons are renowned innovators in the field. Request a consultation with one of our specialists today, or call us at 541-382-8346 and one of our helpful staff members will schedule your appointment.

Causes and Symptoms
Spider veins can be caused by blood backing up in the smaller veins that are closer to the surface of the skin. Other factors that contribute to spider veins include hormone changes, injury, sun exposure, pregnancy, and aging.
While most spider veins are a cosmetic concern, occasionally they can be symptomatic, including leg swelling, pain, itching and bleeding.
