DVT diagnostics
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot (thrombus) in a deep vein, usually in the legs. Clots in deep veins (deep vein thrombosis) can occur following surgery or trauma, or they can be spontaneous. Most DVTs require immediate medical carea. If your doctor suspects that you have DVT, you may be referred for an ultrasound test to measure the blood flow through your veins and help find any clots that might be blocking the flow, or in more severe cases, are a danger to break free and travel to the lungs (known as a pulmonary embolism). Our office is equiped to diagnose and manage DVT. When a DVT is discoverd, we work with your physicians to manage the DVT and minimize potential for complications.
